Inadequate Electrical Supply to Island
01/11/22 - Angela Met in
Person with James B. at the house and talked about island placement and contents
and told James B that she wanted him to make sure that an electricity pathway was
run while the floor has the large hole in it. James said he would take care of
it.
Angela stated to Barbie that a path for electrical
needed to go in before the hole in the kitchen gets filled with concrete. A few
days later, Angela took these photos of the opening in the kitchen floor:

Once that large hole was filled, Angela expressed to
Barbie disappointment that a pathway for electrical had not been placed. Barbie
told Angela that WH did not expect it was actually going
to be filled the day it was filled in, so they didn’t get to it, but not to
worry it would be taken care of.
3/5/22 Barbie’s
update report says under scheduled for next week “confirm cook top and hood vent”
3/7/22 Angela
sends Barbie link to 36” Hestan Smart Induction Cooktop
3/9/22 Angela sends
Barbie link to 36” Hestan Smart Induction Cooktop asking
Barbie to find out hood requirements.
Exact date not looked up yet: Barbie calls and tells Angela
no hood will be required with the induction cooktop.
3/21/2022 Group
Text from Christopher Mattern to: Jim Wolfe, Zachary Turnblood
[Site Super Wolf / James], Barbie Garrett [Wolf Homes], Taylor Smith
9195454457, Jim Wolfe,
Angela Mattern: “We are going to go with the induction
cooktop. We will order a gas grill for outside installation. We’re good to pass
on the kitchen hood and to bring the ceiling down 8”. Angela will get with
Barbie today on other detailed needs today. Thanks everyone for the great
work.”
3/30/22 Barbie
texts to Angela about running the wire for the island before pouring “jip crete”. Angela reiterates what
appliances are going in the island by texting Barbie “I think you have copies
of resources for the microwave, dishwasher, and cooktop and disposal that go in
the island. Is that right?” to which Barbie responds “yes, I do” For
convenience, Angela sends Barbie the installation manual for smart induction
cooktop.
Angela verbally implores Taylor, and Barbie, to be sure an
adequate pathway is placed for electrical in the island and hears back they
have things all set.
4/12/22 Angela
emails Terri Beardslee about builder saying we don’t need vent hood anymore due
to changing to the induction cooktop. Beardslee facilitates an even swap.
1/12/23 Angela hears
in meeting between herself, WH and AVE, that the electrical pathway running to the
island is inadequate to get enough power the island to operate a microwave,
dishwasher, disposal, and smart induction cooktop.
1/13/23 Taylor’s
weekly update proposes a 7-8K cost to revise pathway for electrical to island
1/16/23 James IV says at a meeting with Chris, Angela and Taylor that he was unaware an induction cooktop
was going to be used in the island, it was “the first he’s heard of it.” WH confirmed
that the pathway for electrical to the island is inadequate to support the
electrical needs on the island (smart induction cooktop, microwave, dishwasher,
and disposal, power strips). WH talked about not having known there would be an
induction cooktop on the island and thus preparations were not made for it to be
there. Angela took a short break from the meeting.
Update January 2024 -- Many more communications occurred following
1/16/23 and WH still repeatedly did not get electrical installed in the right
place for the island, so a bunch of sub time was wasted addressing things repeatedly
and doing costly reworks, and finally, cabinetry had to be redesigned and a ton
of time was wasted to work around WH negligence (or purposefully screwing
things up).
